Booking and membership terms and conditions

When you buy tickets or purchase a membership with Painshill Park Trust Ltd (“Painshill”), you agree to these terms and conditions, which form the basis of any contract between Painshill and yourself. A contract is only established once we have received and accepted your order and full payment. Upon receipt of cleared funds, the contract becomes binding. Painshill reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Your continued use of the park and services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

1. Prices
The description and price of tickets or memberships are displayed on the Painshill website and at point of sale in the shop at the time of purchase.
Prices are in £ Sterling and include any applicable taxes. No surcharges will apply once payment is made.
Painshill reserves the right to change prices without notice.
We accept most major credit and debit cards in partnership with our payment gateway. Unfortunately, American Express is not accepted at this time.

2. Online Security
To ensure a secure online shopping experience, your credit/debit card details will be encrypted on a secure server to minimise the risk of unauthorised access.

3. Weather Policy
Painshill reserves the right to close the park or cancel events in extreme weather or other unforeseen conditions.
Due to being an outdoor venue, events will not be cancelled due to poor weather unless it poses safety risks (e.g., high winds, flooding, or lightning).
Refunds will only be issued if Painshill cancels an event and cannot reschedule it.
If an event is cancelled due to extreme weather conditions once the event has started, ticket refunds will not be offered. Painshill will endeavour to offer tickets to an alternative event, where ticket availability allows. 
No refunds will be given due to travel disruption or if a customer is unable to attend due to adverse weather conditions. 

4. Follies and Path Closures
Our follies are delicate restorations and may be closed for maintenance.
Areas of the park or pathways may be closed due to flooding, muddy conditions, ice, or snow for the safety of all visitors. 
Visitors are not guaranteed access to all parts of the landscape during their visit. 
No refunds will be issued if areas are closed.

5. Online Tickets and Memberships
Tickets and memberships purchased online and within the Painshill shop are non-refundable and non-transferable unless stated otherwise.
Changes to bookings may be accommodated at our discretion; contact us on 01932 868113 for assistance.
Tickets are valid only for the specified date and cannot be resold or transferred.
Concession tickets are available for students, seniors, carers, and other eligible visitors. Valid proof of eligibility, such as student ID, proof of age, or relevant documentation, must be presented upon entry.
Entry is permissible only with a valid ticket or membership card presented by the member in person.
All visitors included in a ticket or membership must enter the park together.
Tickets or memberships purchased online cannot be used in conjunction with any other special offer or promotion.
We make every effort to stay open, however on occasion the park may have to close. In this instance tickets holders and members will be contacted via email.
We will only accept physical membership cards, pictures and photocopies will not be accepted. 
We require a photo to be attached to your membership for each named person, this will be taken on your first visit to the park after you receive a new card.

6. Membership and Direct Debit Payments
Painshill offers the option to pay for memberships via Direct Debit. By choosing this option, you agree to the following terms:
Payment Schedule:
Direct Debit payments will be collected annually, as per the agreement, on the specified date, either the 1st or 15th of the month.
If the payment date falls on a weekend or bank holiday, the payment will be collected on the next working day.
Notification:
Any changes to the amount, date, or frequency of payments will be communicated to you at least 10 working days in advance.
Failed Payments:
If a payment fails due to insufficient funds or any other reason, Painshill reserves the right to retry the payment anytime within the next five working days. Repeated payment failures may result in the suspension of your membership.
Cancellation:
You may cancel your Direct Debit at any time by contacting your bank. Please notify Painshill in writing at least 10 working days in advance of your next payment to avoid disruptions and unnecessary fees to the charity, no refunds will be given if notice is provided after this date.
Refunds:
Refunds related to Direct Debit payments will be processed in accordance with the Direct Debit Guarantee.
Changes to plan:
If you wish to modify your plan for any reason, we require 10 working days written notice to implement these changes.

7. Park Rules
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, visitors must:
Follow all posted signage and staff instructions.
Refrain from damaging or removing plants, wildlife, or property.
Refrain from climbing trees, picking plants and flowers, and entering the lake.
Dispose of litter in designated bins.
Abide by restrictions on prohibited items (e.g., bicycles, drones, alcohol).
Refrain from feeding the wildlife.
Refrain from cursing or yelling in the landscape.

8. Prohibited Items & Activities
The following items/activities are prohibited in the landscape:
Musical instruments and radios with speakers
Changing clothes 
Weapons of any kind or items that look like weapons and illegal substances 
Barbecues anywhere in the landscape
Use of cigarettes and e-cigarettes inside the buildings and follies. 
Bicycles, rollerblades, skateboards and other recreational vehicles. Bicycles and scooters can be used by children up to the age of 5. 
Any toys that are disruptive to guests, you can bring balls, frisbees or other small sports equipment. 

9. Events
Day tickets (general admission) do not apply to all events; specific event tickets must be purchased.
Painshill reserves the right to alter event details without notice including artists and acts.
Event tickets are valid only for the specified event and time.
Alcohol and pets are prohibited at most special events unless otherwise stated. Painshill reserves the right to conduct bag searches and refuse entry to guests suspected or found to be carrying alcohol. 
Members must present a valid membership card when attending member-specific events.
Painshill accepts no liability if a customer is unable to attend an event due to travel disruption.
By booking a special event with us, you accept that we will contact you via email with relevant event information.

10. Photography and Commercial Use
Personal photography is permitted; however, commercial photography or filming requires prior written permission.
Use of drones, tripods, or professional equipment is prohibited without approval.
Photo shoots involving costumes, theatrical makeup, or props that may disrupt other visitors’ enjoyment of the park are not permitted. Large group photography sessions, such as those with elaborate costumes or makeup, are strictly prohibited without prior consent
Any large luggage, including suitcases containing costumes or camera equipment, must be stored at the Visitor Centre at the owner’s risk. Painshill Park accepts no responsibility for any loss or damage to items left in storage.
Please note: we are unlikely to grant permission to fly drones for amateur, student or non-commercial (such as family or pre wedding shoots) filming or to approve requests from users who seek permission in return for access to use the drone footage obtained.

11. Liability
Painshill is not liable for loss, damage, or injury sustained on the premises except where liability cannot be excluded by law. Visitors enter the park at their own risk.

12. Discounts, Competitions, and Offers
Discount codes and offers are available for limited periods and cannot be combined with other promotions.
Membership Discount—a valid membership card will need to be scanned at the till. The discount is only valid for the member named on the card.
Painshill reserves the right to determine the validity of codes and withdraw offers at any time.
Members discount is only valid for the named member(s) on the card if they are making the purchase.
Blue Light Discount – please present a valid Blue Light Card or other proof of eligibility
Carer Entry – Complimentary entry is available for essential carers when accompanying someone who requires assistance. We kindly request that carers provide evidence of their carer status, such as a letter from a healthcare provider, a DWP letter or an ID Card.
The decision of Painshill in all competitions is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Competition tickets remain the property of Painshill and can be withdrawn at any time.
