Gary Topp
Director
The Trustees of Painshill Park are delighted to announce the appointment of Gary Topp to succeed Paul Griffiths as the Director of Painshill.
Gary is well qualified for the role. He has over 25 years of experience as a CEO and leader of significant institutions in the cultural, heritage and environmental sectors, both in the UK and Australia. His most recent executive role has been as Director of the Arnolfini Gallery, the internationally recognised arts centre in Bristol. He is at present Chairman of Leach Pottery, a major international centre of studio pottery.
The Chairman of the Trustees, Sir Stephen Lamport said “Gary brings a wide range of skills and experience to Painshill which will be of central importance as we address the significant and exciting challenges of this new phase of our story. We much look forward to his arrival on 24 March, when I know he will be given a very warm welcome. Gary takes over from our Interim Director, Peter Pearce, who has given Painshill inspiring leadership over the last few months for which we are very grateful. Peter will resume his role as a Trustee once Gary arrives.”
Gary Topp said “I am delighted to be taking up the role of Director of Painshill Park at this important and ambitious moment in its journey. I am looking forward to working with the Trustees, Staff and Volunteers as we continue to welcome warmly our current visitors and communities, whilst also working closely with our many stakeholders to develop further Painshill Park as a place of international importance and exceptional local relevance.”
